About Rada
Violin Teacher
Rada holds a dual degree in Music Performance and Education from Temple University, and has been teaching private piano and violin since 2011. She has also taught and helped establish a music curriculum in the Jamaican parish of Portland in 2012.
Rada has performed on stages such as the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA, and Carnegie Hall in New York, NY.
Her story
How She Got Started
Rada was born in Baia Mare, Romania, and began her musical career by attending a music school as a 1st grader. After moving to the United States, Rada continued her studies in California and Pennsylvania, and performed in various orchestras.
Rada continued to study violin and piano throughout high school, and performed in the Reading Symphony Junior Orchestra for three years, and the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra for four. Rada held strong positions in the RSYO, such as assistant and associate Concert Mistress for three of her 4 years of attendance.
Rada studied under the world-renowned violin soloist and teacher, Helen Kwalwasser, while at the Boyer College of Music and Dance, at Temple University in Philadelphia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education and violin performance from Temple University in May of 2014.
What she does
Educator & Performer
Rada’s teaching style is personally geared towards each of her students. She incorporates games and fun activities to keep young students engaged, and challenging worksheets
In addition to placing in multiple scholarship competitions, Rada has taken part in performances for Music Celebration International in Austria and Italy and performed as associate concert mistress in the 2004 Conference for String Education and Chamber Music. Rada has performed in cities such as: The Czech Republic capital of Prague, Italian cities Rome, and Pisa.
